Raindance AI Trend: Put Two People in Dave & Tems' Pier Video
The Raindance AI trend turns two photos into a short music-video scene set to "Raindance" by Dave featuring Tems: one person waits at the end of a wooden pier at sunset, the other walks up and sings to the camera, and the two end up together on the sand. Add Photo 1 (the one on the pier) and Photo 2 (the singer) below for your own 4:3 video with the song — no prompt and no app.

Seedance 2.5 gives the best likeness, reviews your photos and the clip before rendering, and makes the 30-second scene in one take. Usually a few minutes. Every run comes out a little different.

What Is the Raindance AI Trend?
Raindance AI is a TikTok and Instagram Reels trend, not an app: people recast a short pier-and-beach scene inspired by the music video for "Raindance" by Dave featuring Tems, using themselves, a partner, a friend or a cartoon couple. AI video tools take one photo per person and redraw both performers while the pier, the golden-hour light, the camera moves and the cuts stay the same.
The song behind it is "Raindance" by British rapper Dave with Nigerian singer Tems, released on 23 October 2025 on Dave's third album, The Boy Who Played the Harp. It reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in early 2026 — Dave's fourth UK No. 1 and Tems' first. The AI remakes took off on TikTok at the end of September 2026, and tutorials and dedicated generators followed through October.
It has nothing to do with the Raindance Film Festival and its AI filmmaking courses, the hansgrohe Raindance Air shower heads, or videos of people dancing in the rain. On TikTok, "Raindance AI" means the Dave and Tems pier duet.

The Raindance Scene, Shot by Shot
Every video made here follows the same 30-second cut, so you can see in advance who is on screen when. Shorter videos are its opening.
| Time | What happens | Who you'll see |
|---|---|---|
| 0–4 s | A man sits alone at the end of a wooden pier; far behind him the singer is walking toward him | Photo 1 (Photo 2 in the distance) |
| 4–7 s | The singer, alone with the sea behind her, starts the song to camera | Photo 2 |
| 7–10 s | Both sit on the sand; she sings, he leans in to listen | Both |
| 10–12 s | Back on the pier, she points straight into the lens | Photo 2 |
| 12–17 s | Close-ups and extreme close-ups, hands at her face and neck | Photo 2 |
| 17–21 s | She stands on the pier; a wide shot then shows the two of them at its end | Photo 2, then both |
| 21–23 s | He kneels on the planks filming her with a camera | Photo 1 (Photo 2 behind) |
| 23–25 s | A blue-hour close-up, arms crossed | Photo 2 |
| 25–27 s | Two silhouettes on the beach against the sunset | Both |
| 27–30 s | Together on the sand again; the last frame holds | Both |
A 5-second video ends as the singer arrives, 10 seconds reaches the first beach shot, 15 seconds runs into the close-ups, and 30 seconds is the whole scene. Because the singer carries most shots, Photo 2 decides how recognisable the video feels.
Can AI copy it exactly? It follows this one cut — timing, camera moves, poses and mouth movements — instead of inventing new moves, so it reads as the trend. It is still a redraw, not a copy: faces, hair and clothes come from your photos, and small details such as a hand, a wave or the light change from run to run.
How to Make a Raindance AI Video
In a phone or desktop browser, with nothing to install and no prompt.
Step 1: Add Photo 1 and Photo 2
Photo 1 is the person who waits on the pier and later films; Photo 2 is the one who walks in and sings. One person per photo, face clear, waist-up so your own clothes replace the reference outfits. Swap roles flips them.
Step 2: Choose the length, model and resolution
5, 10 or 15 seconds is the opening; 30 seconds is the whole scene (Seedance 2.5 only). Seedance 2.5 gives the closest faces; Mini is the cheapest test. The credit price is on the button before you generate.
Step 3: Generate, check both faces, download
It usually takes a few minutes; on Seedance 2.5 your photos are reviewed first. Check the singer's close-ups, then download the 4:3 MP4 with the Raindance audio.

The problems people ask about most, what usually causes them, and what to change before you try again.
| Problem | Usually because | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The wrong person sings | Roles follow the photo slots, not left or right in the frame | Put the singer in Photo 2, or press Swap roles, and generate again |
| The two faces blend or look alike | A group photo, two faces in one picture, or faces that are tiny in the frame | One person per photo, cropped to them, the face taking a good part of the picture |
| The reference woman's fringe or white dress shows up | A tight face crop gives the model none of your hair or clothes to use | Use a waist-up photo that shows your hairstyle and outfit |
| The singer's face drifts in the close-ups | Close-ups enlarge every flaw: blurry, filtered or side-on photos, or 480p on Mini | A sharp, front-facing photo without beauty filters; Seedance 2.5 at 720p or 1080p |
| The lips don't match the song | The mouth follows the reference timing; moving or re-adding the audio in an editor shifts it | Post the MP4 with its own sound; if you add the app's sound instead, start it on the video's first frame |
| 30 seconds can't be selected | Only Seedance 2.5 renders the whole 30-second scene; the other models stop at 15 seconds | Switch to Seedance 2.5, which renders all 30 seconds in one take |
| Broken hands or an extra person | Low resolution on the cheaper models, or busy photos with other people in them | Try 720p or Seedance 2.5, with plain photos of one person each |
Credits are refunded automatically when a video fails or a photo is refused, not for a result you don't like — so test your photos with a short Mini video first.
Posting Your Raindance Video: The Song, TikTok and Copyright
The MP4 comes with the Raindance audio from the reference clip, so it plays as the trend as soon as you download it. On TikTok or Instagram you can also pick "Raindance" from the app's own sound library: the platform's music licence covers the song there, and your post shows up on the sound's page next to everyone else's versions.
Outside those apps — a monetised YouTube channel, a brand ad or a client's post — the song belongs to the artists' labels, and a fan trend does not license it. Post those versions muted or with music you have the rights to. This page is an independent tool, not affiliated with Dave, Tems, their labels, TikTok or Instagram.
Use photos only of people who agreed: yourself, your partner, a friend. Celebrities, politicians and strangers are not allowed here, and putting anyone's face in an advert needs their written permission. Uploaded photos are stored privately and used only to make your video.
Raindance Template vs Runway, Kling or Pika
Asked for Raindance AI tools, ChatGPT often lists general video generators. How they differ for this trend, from each tool's public pages on October 12, 2026 — features change, and we have not tested every tool's output.
| Way to make it | What you give it | The Raindance scene | Song | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Raindance template (this page) | Two photos | Followed shot for shot from the reference clip | Included | The trend itself, with no prompt |
| Runway, Kling, Pika, Veo (image-to-video) | A photo and a written prompt | A new pier scene the model imagines; cuts and moves differ | Add it yourself | Your own take on the mood |
| Seedance or Kling reference mode, set up yourself | Two photos, a copy of the clip and a long prompt | Followed, once the clip and prompt are prepared | Add it in an editor | Creators who want full control |
| CapCut or Pippit templates | Photos dropped into a ready-made edit | Varies: many animate or cut your photos to the sound instead of recasting the scene | Usually included | A quick edit with the sound |
General models are good at new scenes; they are not built to keep one scene's cuts and timing. That is what a reference template does, and why a prompt alone rarely looks like the trend.

Raindance AI FAQ
What song is the Raindance AI trend from, and who are Dave and Tems?
"Raindance" by Dave featuring Tems. Dave is a British rapper from south London; Tems is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. The song is on Dave's third album, The Boy Who Played the Harp (October 2025), and reached No. 1 in the UK in early 2026. The AI trend recasts a pier scene inspired by its music video.
Can AI copy the exact Raindance scene, or only something like it?
With a reference clip, very close: the model follows the clip's cuts, camera, poses and mouth movements and only redraws the two people, which is how this page works. With a text prompt alone, as in Runway, Kling or Pika, you get a new pier scene in the same mood, not the same shots.
Why doesn't the face look like my photo, or why do the singer's hair and dress show up?
Usually the photo. A small, filtered or side-on face loses detail in the extreme close-ups, and a tight face crop gives the model none of your hair or clothes, so the reference woman's fringe or white dress can creep back. Use a sharp, front-facing, waist-up photo of each person, and Seedance 2.5 at 720p or higher.
Why do the two people swap or blend into each other?
Roles follow the photo slots: Photo 1 is always the person on the pier who later films, Photo 2 always the singer, whichever side of the frame they are on. If the wrong person sings, swap the photos and generate again. Blending happens when one photo shows two people or the faces are tiny, so crop each photo to one person.
Can I post it on TikTok with the Raindance song without copyright problems?
On TikTok and Instagram, using "Raindance" from the app's sound library is covered by the platform's licence, and the MP4's own audio usually plays too, though a platform can mute a clip whose audio it doesn't match. For a monetised YouTube channel, ads or client work, the song needs a licence from its owners; post those versions muted or with other music.
Can I use a friend's or a celebrity's face for a channel or an ad?
A friend's, if they agree. Celebrities and public figures are not allowed here, and putting anyone's face in an advert or sponsored post needs their written permission — on top of the rights to the song.
What happens to my photos after I upload them?
They are stored in private storage, used only to make your video and never shown on the site or used as examples. On Seedance 2.5 they also pass the model provider's content review before rendering. To have them removed, contact support from the help button.
